Individual treatment

Reduced quality of life and suffering as a result of anxiety syndrome, depression, stress, and other forms of mental illness as well as mental illness affects more and more people in Sweden. I offer tailor-made treatment based on the treatments recommended by the National Board of Health and Welfare. I have extensive experience in treating any anxiety disorder, various types of depression as well as stress and fatigue syndrome. The number of sessions required to achieve a good effect that lasts over time depends on several factors. CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), and MCT (metacognitive therapy) are treatments that aim to improve quality of life and reduce symptoms by changing how individuals deal with different situations, thoughts, and feelings.

Individual psychological treatment process

During a psychological treatment by me, we spend one to three sessions making an appropriate analysis of your problems, your situation, and your maintenance factors (behaviours, thoughts, and contexts that prevent the disease from self-healing). Besides conversation, this often includes homework of various kinds, such as short diaries, rating scales, or writing down treatment goals.

  

After the initial phase, we draw up a joint treatment plan. The treatment plan indicates what we will work on, how we will do it, the goals of the treatment, and how many sessions will be needed.

  

During the following treatment phase, we start the active change work. In this phase, you get a better understanding of the processes you are going through and the changes that are needed to achieve your goals. You will be given homework, challenges, and support as well as tools to achieve the goals I have set for you. Before completing the treatment, we will create an appropriate plan to support you in maintaining the positive changes you have undertaken. The treatment phase may vary in its scope, depending on, among other things, the severity of your illness, your condition, and the support you have in your environment.

Couples Therapy (IBCT)

There may be many reasons to seek help in your relationship, such as different expectations in your relationship, infidelity, or a desire to increase closeness. I work with IBCT (Integrative Behavioural Couple Therapy), a CBT treatment for couples that has shown good results. At my clinic, you will receive professional treatment and an approach tailored to your specific needs. We start our contact with an initial phase, where we all meet. After that, I will usually meet once separately before providing you with feedback together. The individual assessment is not always necessary for good treatment.

Couples therapy process (IBCT)

In couples therapy at my clinic, we all see each other during the first session. In this session, we will discuss your view of your relationship/relationships, your goals, history, and conditions. Here I will also assess whether or not it is important to conduct individual assessment interviews. Often individual assessment interviews are appropriate. After the assessment phase, we will meet again in a joint session where I will give feedback on the themes that emerged and the appropriate treatments for these. We jointly develop a treatment plan. The treatment plan sets out what we will work on, how we will do it, the goals of the treatment, and an estimation of how many sessions will be needed.

 

During the following treatment phase, you start the active work of creating understanding and acceptance for each other and improving the interaction between you. I will provide you with homework, challenge you and give you support and tools along the way. Before completing the treatment, we create a plan to support you in maintaining the positive changes you have made. The treatment phase may vary depending on the issues we are working with, as well as your mutual motivation.

Personal development

Sometimes you may find yourself at a stage where you need support to move forward in a particular area of your life. You may feel that you have reached an endpoint from which you cannot move forward on your own. This is where various psychological interventions can be key components for further development. Personal development is designed to support you in your process and development as a manager, athlete, professional, or individual. Together we will design a strategy and work towards it, based on psychological theory.

Personal development process

In psychological work involving personal development, we start with an initial session where we discuss your wishes as well as my assessment of what we can do to help you get there. Depending on the nature of the personal development in question, the arrangement may vary. Some tasks can be completed with sessions every week or every other week. However, other tasks may require closer contact, longer sessions, or working together in another location, such as your workplace.
